The Altamonte Springs (FL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated

Welcome

On behalf of the members of the Altamonte Springs (FL) Chapter of  The Links, Incorporated, it is truly my pleasure to enlighten you regarding this wonderful organization.  This chapter’s rich and storied legacy of service and friendship began on May 31, 1986.  Our beloved Chapter was organized by Doreatha B. Orr and Eloise Sistrunk, who were joined by twenty two charter members, all distinguished professionals and respected leaders in the community. Our thirty-plus years of transformational and sustained civic engagement are focused on being a community catalyst for the improvement and enhancement of academic achievement, holistic wellness, civic, and intercultural activities for the citizens and families in our community.   One of our signature programs is the partnership with the Colgate Palmolive Corporation, a national partner providing dental health screenings and education to school students throughout Central Florida. Our chapter’s commitment to service is reflected in five areas: National Trends & Services – working on issues  pertinent to our communities and the nation, Services to Youth – addressing the challenges faced by African-American Youth; International Trends & Services – helping improve the lives and livelihood of the global community; The Arts – supporting the performing and visual arts; and Health & Human Services – promoting good health and eliminating health disparities in our communities.  We contribute over 2,000 service hours  annually, and we are honored to share with you information about our chapter and our legacy of service.
